Great work deserves to be seen.
The Built Right Award recognizes contractors for real jobs done right, judged on photos, craftsmanship, and what the homeowner says.
An award you can’t buy
Every award is tied to one finished project. You can’t win it with an ad budget or a sales pitch.

Judged on the job, not the ad budget
Contractors enter one real project at a time, with before, during, and after photos and the story of how the crew got it done.
Verified by the homeowner
We contact every homeowner before an entry is scored. If they wouldn’t hire you again, you don’t win.
Scored by people who know the trade
Experienced roofers, remodelers, and installers judge each entry against a published rubric, without seeing the company name.
Seven award categories
Every trade is judged on the same six criteria, with details that fit the work.
Roofing
Replacements, storm repairs, metal and specialty roofs
Gutters
Seamless gutters, guards, drainage fixes
Siding
Vinyl, fiber cement, wood, stone veneer
Windows and Doors
Window replacement, patio and entry doors
Kitchen Remodeling
Full and partial kitchen remodels
Bathroom Remodeling
Full baths, tub to shower conversions, accessibility
Innovation in Home Improvement
Open to every trade. New materials, methods and technology that made a home work better.
The work families live with every day
A roof that rides out the storm, a kitchen that finally works, a porch that looks the way it did when the house was new. That is the kind of job we want to hear about.

Scored out of 100
At least two trade judges score each entry on their own. An entry that scores 80 or more earns the Award of Excellence, and the top score in each category and region is named Project of the Year.
