Gutters Award of Excellence

Gutters do one job: move water away from the house. Our judges look at how well the system is sized, pitched, and finished, and whether it will still work in ten years.

What our judges look for

  • Gutters sized for the roof area and pitched toward the outlets
  • Hidden hangers at the right spacing, fastened into solid wood
  • Clean seamless runs and tight, sealed miters
  • Downspouts placed to carry water well away from the foundation
  • Guards installed without lifting or damaging the shingles

Photo tips

Show the old gutters and any fascia damage, fascia repairs before the new gutters go up, close-ups of hangers and miters, and where each downspout discharges.

Leave out logos, yard signs, house numbers, and homeowner faces so judges score the work, not the brand.
